Making mistakes with Instagram

I recently posted the below slightly daft, definitely show-offy video to my Instagram. I filmed and uploaded it first thing in the morning for a bit of fun but reflecting on it, aside from perhaps showing what I can do, the video doesn’t help anyone or give any explanation or background or tips. The more I thought about the video, the more it annoyed me.

I love bodyweight and gymnastics training and I’ve taught myself everything from scratch. In doing so, I’ve watched countless YouTube videos and there are only a very small handful of creators whose videos have ever been remotely useful. Showing what someone can do - whilst potentially impressive - is completely useless unless you can learn how to achieve it step-by-step.

I use my Instagram to highlight particular areas of training that I’m passionate about or focus on client highlights, but it’s very easy to fall into the trap of just posting seemingly impressive videos. I can’t always give background info to videos but I’m going to start adding blog posts to such videos and using my Facebook page for more in-depth walk throughs and information.
